Swim & Dive takes on Division II Fresno Pacific, women take home victory

FRESNO, Calif. — Occidental College secured multiple top finishes, winning events including the men's 200-yard butterfly and women's 1000-yard freestyle, in a competitive matchup against Fresno Pacific University. The women picked up a 153-123 victory over the Division II Firebirds, while the men fell 158-127.

Amanda George secured first place in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:27.24. George also contributed to the women's 400-yard freestyle relay team, which finished second.

Elle Howson took third place in the women's 200-yard freestyle. She also excelled in the 200-yard IM, winning the event.

Nate Pittroff delivered a strong performance in the men's 100-yard breaststroke, capturing first place. Pittroff also played a key role in the men's 400-yard freestyle relay team, which finished second.

Kestrel Linehan showcased her skills in the women's 100-yard backstroke, finishing second. Linehan also swam in the women's 200-yard medley relay, where the team placed fourth.

Individual Swimming

- 100 Yard Breaststroke — Florence Lo won; Katie Dannenbring finished second.
- 200 Yard Freestyle — Elle Howson placed second; Ella Reedy took third.
- 500 Yard Freestyle — Connor Grant took first place; Ivan Palmer placed third.
- 100 Yard Butterfly — Katie Dannenbring finished second; Cali Carroll placed third.
- 200 Yard Butterfly — Reid Lalli claimed first place; Brandon Kim came in second.
- 200 Yard IM — Elle Howson won; Hunter Fawley placed third.

The Tigers are back in action on Saturday in a SCIAC meet against Claremont-M-S at De Mandel Aquatics Center with diving starting at 10 a.m. Swimming will follow at 11 a.m.
