LOS ANGELES — Occidental lost to CMS 4-0 on Saturday at W.C. Patterson Field at Jack Kemp Stadium. The Tigers finished with a 17-10 shot advantage, including 10 attempts after halftime, but were held scoreless despite putting five shots on goal.
CMS scored three times in the first half and added one goal in the second, while the Tigers earned seven second-half corner kicks.
The Tigers fell behind 3-0 in the first half as CMS scored three times from 16:29 to 23:36, with Jordan Yates scoring the first two goals and Frankie Fragola adding the third. Earlier,
Zakrie Smith and
Alessia Sacchi gave the Tigers early looks, and the Tigers continued to create chances after the CMS goals with attempts from
Mia Steadman and a saved shot by
Diana Reyes-Sanchez at 21:35.
Mia Merkelbach missed high in the 27th minute, and Reyes-Sanchez forced another save at 31:04 before the Tigers absorbed a CMS corner and two shots around the 36th minute, including a team save on Nicolette Daniel.
The final stretch grew physical, with the Tigers whistled for five fouls from 30:25 to 44:46 and no cards shown, and the half ended with CMS ahead 3-0.
The Tigers were held scoreless in the second half despite generating 10 shots and seven corner kicks, while Robyn Dizon scored at 64:51 for the lone goal of the half to move CMS ahead 4-0. Earlier, Sacchi forced a save at 47:24, and

Melanie Rodriguez helped keep CMS from adding on after the goal, saving shots at 69:53 and 81:12. The Tigers continued to push late, beginning with a corner at 76:20 and an
Emerson Shirey shot, then producing four corners and three shots from 82:55 to 87:36. The score remained 4-0 through the final whistle.
