LOS ANGELES — Occidental College (0-1, 0-1) fell to the University of Redlands (1-0, 1-0) with a final score of 12-6 on Saturday at Patterson Field. The Bulldogs' offense proved formidable, notching three extra-player goals, while the Tigers managed two extra-player goals in the third quarter.
The first quarter began with goalies
Charlotte Dreyfus and Courtney Myers in net for their respective teams. Redlands struck first with April Bryant scoring a player-up goal at 10:46 following a turnover by Occidental. The Tigers quickly responded, leveling the score at 1-1 with a free position goal by
Ava Whelan at 9:24. However, the Bulldogs regained control, with Ruby Czajkowski netting two goals, including one assisted by Jacqueline Landucci, to extend the lead. Another goal from Bryant solidified Redlands' advantage, leading 4-1 at the end of the quarter.
