LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Occidental (2-8, 2-1) fell to Pomona-Pitzer (5-8, 3-0) with a final score of 23-2 on Saturday at De Mandel Aquatics Center. Occidental managed to score once in both the first and third quarters.
Pomona-Pitzer dominated the opening quarter, scoring four consecutive goals, with Katie Hugar finding the net and Paityn Richardson following, assisted by Lisbon Zeigler. Occidental's
Isabella Wilde broke through Pomona-Pitzer's defense with an assist from
Victoria Duncan, making it 4-1.Â
Pomona-Pitzer continued its offensive momentum in the second quarter, as Kailoa Kerber scored a hat trick, finishing with a goal to extend the lead to 11-1. In the third quarter, Sara Archer added two more goals, increasing the score to 15-2. Ava Gurney and Emma Jackson closed the match with two late goals in the fourth quarter, securing a decisive 23-2 victory for Pomona-Pitzer.
Ruby Vogel scored once on two attempts and added a steal, contributing to the offensive effort. Wilde also found the back of the net with her lone shot and recorded a steal. Duncan facilitated play with two assists, while
