THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — Occidental College (2-9, 2-2 SCIAC) narrowly fell to California Lutheran University (5-7, 3-0 SCIAC) with a final score of 8-9 at Samuelson Aquatics Center. The Tigers managed three power-play goals, keeping the game competitive until the final whistle.

Cal Lutheran struck first with a goal by Olivia Hurley in the opening quarter, assisted by Reyna Clark. The Tigers responded late when Isabella Wilde scored, tying the game at 1-1.

In the second quarter, Aleaha Gonzalez scored twice for the Regals, contributing to a 5-3 lead by halftime. 

Occidental closed the gap in the third quarter with Wilde's power-play goal, but the Regals maintained their advantage thanks to Clarisa Robles' score. 

In a tense final quarter, Occidental leveled the game at 8-8 with Talia Thomas' goal, but Cal Lutheran sealed the win when Lauren Lohmeier scored, ending the match with a 9-8 victory.

Estella Gray led the offensive effort with two goals and two assists, while also contributing one steal. Wilde matched Gray's performance, recording two goals and two assists, alongside two blocks. Emma Wilderman added two goals on three shots and drew two exclusions. Thomas tallied two goals and one assist, contributing two steals as well.
