THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — Occidental College (2-9, 2-2 SCIAC) narrowly fell to California Lutheran University (5-7, 3-0 SCIAC) with a final score of 8-9 at Samuelson Aquatics Center. The Tigers managed three power-play goals, keeping the game competitive until the final whistle.
Cal Lutheran struck first with a goal by Olivia Hurley in the opening quarter, assisted by Reyna Clark. The Tigers responded late when
Isabella Wilde scored, tying the game at 1-1.
In the second quarter, Aleaha Gonzalez scored twice for the Regals, contributing to a 5-3 lead by halftime.Â
Occidental closed the gap in the third quarter with Wilde's power-play goal, but the Regals maintained their advantage thanks to Clarisa Robles' score.Â

Talia Thomas' goal, but Cal Lutheran sealed the win when Lauren Lohmeier scored, ending the match with a 9-8 victory.
