Tigers Fall on Friday Afternoon

Oxy was shut-out in the first game, a five inning affair and clawed back from a 5-0 deficit in game two to plate three runs in the fourth and fifth innings, combined, but that was all they would get on the day.

Gabriela Chavez was 2-for-3 with a walk and run scored and Tasha Serna-Gallegos and Rebecca Nashleanas collected two hits apiece, as well. Alyssa Escalante doubled in the fifth as the only extra-base hit of the game for Oxy and scored one of the three runs in the game.

The Tigers are 13-22 overall with a 2-20 SCIAC mark entering the final day of the 2009 season. Oxy will host the University of La Verne (26-12, 15-7) who sit tied for second in the league standings.
