LOS ANGELESJacqueline Shimamoto (Santa Clarita) capped off her stellar season from the plate, going 2 for 5 with an RBI, a double and a pair of walks.

But her sister and the Whittier College Poets one-upped Oxy, beating the Tigers in both games of their season finale at Palmer Field on Saturday.

The Tigers fell 7-3 in Game 1, and 4-0 in Game 2.

Emi Shimamoto (Santa Clarita) was 6 for 7 with a home run, three doubles and five RBIs.

Jacky, who's been one of a few bright spots for Oxy (4-28, 4-22 SCIAC) all season, wasn't too shabby either. The sophomore center fielder's impressive day actually dropped her team-leading season batting average to .417. The lefty reached base safely in 19 of her 28 games played this season.

After the Poets (23-15, 13-11 SCIAC) took a 5-0 lead with a two-run second inning and three-run third in the first game, Oxy chipped away at the lead, but didn't get closer than 5-2 in the fourth.

In the second game, Whittier scored a pair of runs in the third and two more in the fifth while holding Oxy to just three hits.

Courtney Delano pitched a shutout for the Poets in Game 2, going seven innings with three strikeouts.

Brittany Vacura (Elk Grove) went six innings with two earned runs and eight strikeouts in a losing effort as Oxy's starter in Game 2.

Julia Nicholson (Upland) was the only other Tiger to have a multi-hit day, going 2 for 6.
