ALISO VIEJO — Elissa Minamishin scored a goal and assisted on another, helping the Occidental College women's soccer team pick up its first point of the season in a 2-2 tie at Soka University on Monday.

After Alise Hildreth gave Soka a 1-0 lead in the first half, Minamishin evened the score shortly after halftime. The senior forward then found Karina Garcia to give Oxy a 2-1 lead.

Soka got even when Ariana Vasquez found the net with about 10 minutes left in regulation.

The teams played 20 minutes of overtime without a goal.

Oxy (0-1-1) has its home opener on Sept. 7 at 11 a.m. at Lower Field.
