LOS ANGELES — Allie Sundara posted a new career high in kills while pacing the Tigers to a five-set match victory over Chapman at Rush Gym on Tuesday.  Sarah Beene was also a key factor in the Tigers' comeback victory, posting 38 total assists compared to Chapman's 40.

Set Scores: 25-22, 17-25, 20-25, 25-14, 15-4

Claire Strohm tied her previous a career best 22 kills, with nine coming in the last two sets. Strohm has been red hot all season for Oxy, averaging a SCIAC second-best 3.85 kills per set.

 "Our coaches were telling us where to hit it all night, and the setters made it easy on us by establishing a fast-paced offense," Strohm said.

Season Impact: The Tigers earned their biggest victory of the season, improving to 6-8 overall and 3-5 in SCIAC play. After losing to No. 4 Cal Lutheran 3-0 on Sep. 29, Oxy has won four out of its last five in the month of October. Chapman falls to 7-8 and 4-5.

Game 1: The Oxy attack was key en route to a first set victory. Strohm and Sundara combined for nine of Oxy's 17 kills while Beene and Tiareh Cruz added seven and five assists each. Abby Smith added four kills for Chapman.

Game 2: Solid defense from Jade Santos carried Chapman to a second set win. The Panthers offense outpaced Oxy despite having nine less total attacks.

Game 3: Michele Hammer led the way for Chapman, tallying three kills and four digs. Key contributions from Kaitlyn Raymundo and Jessica Blum bolstered the Panther win.

Game 4: The Tigers bounced back from consecutive losses and routed Chapman in a double-digit game win. Strohm knocked out eight kills for the Tigers, while the entire Panther attack recorded just six. Beene added 11 assists.

Game 5: Momentum from Game 4 and more of the same from Strohm and Sundara led Oxy to an easy match-sealing win. Amanda Herold rattled down three kills while Cassy Guidice added a pair.

Next Match: The Tigers have a non-conference match against Mills College on Friday at Rush Gym at 6 p.m.
