LOS ANGELES — Andrew Johnson had another 20-point performance despite foul trouble, including 11 in the second half, Spencer Levy played an outstanding all-around game and the Occidental men's basketball team blew out West Coast Baptist 68-50 on the road on Tuesday.

Johnson picked up three fouls in the first half, but was able to bounce back in the second, finishing the evening 8 of 13 from the field and 4 of 4 from the free throw line. He also grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds.

Levy chipped in 15 points, snagged nine rebounds, dished out five assists and had two steals. He had an off night shooting the ball by his standards, going just 6 of 15 and 1 of 6 from deep, but his decision making on offense, and toughness on defense and the glass sparked the Tigers.

Kory Hamane continued his sharp shooting from the outside, going 2 of 6 from the 3-point line for 14 points. Hamane is now 6 of 11 in two games from beyond the arc. 

Oxy big man Andrew Garrison grabbed 10 rebounds for the second game in a row, despite also playing through foul trouble.

At the defensive end of the floor, Jay Miller was Oxy's MVP, holding West Coast Baptist leading scorer Daniel Foster to just 5 of 16 shooting and 12 points. Miller also scored nine points and had three rebounds in 38 minutes played.

As a team, the Tigers held West Coast Baptist 29 percent shooting.

Oxy played a solid first half, jumping out to a 40-20 lead by the break. In front of a good and energetic crowd, the Tigers were able to weather a few runs from the Eagles early in the second half, cruising to a comfortable win. 

Imman Vicente led West Coast Baptist with 19 points.

Season Impact: Oxy improves to 1-1 on the year.
