Box Score PASADENA — Less than 24 hours after defeating Pomona-Pitzer in a five-set thriller, the Occidental women's volleyball team picked up another victory, winning at Caltech, 25-12, 25-19, 25-15.
The Tigers were still on the court at 9:15 p.m. on Friday night and started their match with the Beavers at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Hannah Wagner led Oxy with a game-high 12 kills, Sabrina Degnan added seven, and Claire Strohm, Amanda Herold, Alex Melikian and Corrie McKee each had four.
Madison Mitchell led Oxy with 18 assists and Tiareh Cruz had 15 as the two split the setting duties.
Anna Yung had three block assists for the Tigers.
Alexa Lauinger put away 11 kills for the Beavers.
The Tigers improve to 6-9 overall and are right back in the four-team SCIAC Postseason Tournament mix at 3-4.
Caltech falls to 1-10 and 0-6.
Next Match: The Tigers look to make it three wins in a row and get back to .500 in conference play against Whittier at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
