WHITTIER — Claire Strohm gutted out one more great performance with 14 kills, and Amanda Herold and Cassandra Guidice added 11 as the Occidental women's volleyball team edged Whittier 3-2 on Saturday.

Set Scores: 24-26, 25-21, 16-25, 25-18, 15-13

Season Impact: The Tigers finish the season 11-14 overall and in sixth place in the SCIAC at 7-9.

Whittier finishes behind the Tigers at 9-18 and 5-11.

Strohm, Oxy's All-SCIAC outside hitter, has been dealing with a shoulder injury all season, but still ranked 10th in the conference in kills per set at 2.77.

Tiareh Cruz had 49 assists in her last Oxy volleyball match, Hannah Wagner had eight kills and four aces, and Sabrina Degnan led Oxy with 22 digs.

The Tigers were down 13-9 in the final set before rallying off six straight points for the victory. Herold and Strohm each had a pair of kills during the run.
