Battest Stays Hot Against Cal Lu

LOS ANGELES -- Alex Battest just keeps hitting.

The junior from Henderson, Nev. went 2 for 3 with a double in a 3-0 loss to Cal Lutheran at Bell Field in Game 1 of a doubleheader on Saturday, making her an incredible 14 of her last 22 at the plate.

She has a seven-game hitting streak going and is hitting a team-best .431.

The Tigers totaled six hits as a group, but couldn't quite string anything together. 

Cora Roberts, Mackensie Priley, Alexis Funaki and Kira Elliott all went 1 for 3.

Oxy starter Dallas Boyce pitched all seven innings, striking out three with just two of the three runs against her earned.

Cal Lu's Courtney Sooy pitched a complete game shutout with four strikeouts.

Season Impact: The Tigers fall to 6-13 and 2-7 in SCIAC play.

Cal Lutheran improves to 9-9 and 4-5.

Next Game: The Tigers and Regals play Game 2 in the afternoon on Saturday.
