Box Score CLAREMONT — Bailey Stevens went 2 for 4 with a home run and three RBIs, Mackensie Priley got four hits — including the game-winner — and the Occidental softball team got back in the win column with a 6-5 victory at Pomona-Pitzer in eight innings on Saturday.
Priley, who finished the game 4 for 5, singled in Stephanie Stamnes for the go-ahead run in the top of the eighth.
In the bottom half, Kaitlin Cappetto pitched her second of two scoreless innings, earning the victory.
Stevens sparked the Tigers in the second inning, sending a two-run homer to left center. She also hit an RBI-single in the sixth.
Madison Romero started the game in the circle for Oxy, giving up three earned runs in six innings pitched, and also helped herself at the plate, going 2 for 4 with two runs scored.
Natalie Glover went 2 for 3 and Morgan Giusti was 1 for 3 for Oxy.
Season Impact: The Tigers win their first game since beating Cal Lutheran on March 19, improving to 8-19 overall and 4-11 in SCIAC play.
Pomona-Pitzer goes to 7-18 and 4-9.
