LOS ANGELES -- The Occidental and Pomona-Pitzer softball teams played more than enough innings during a doubleheader at Bell Field on Saturday, but will only have one result for now. 

Pomona-Pitzer took Game 1 and then a thrilling Game 2 was called in the 10th inning due to darkness. The game will by rule be completed the next time the teams meet on Friday, April 13 at Pomona-Pitzer. 

Alexis Funkai got the big hit for the Tigers during a three-run bottom of the sixth inning, doubling in Madison Romero to tie the game at 4-4. 

Romero was 2 for 4 with a pair of RBIs when the game was called.

The Tigers got good pitching from Dallas Boyce and Funaki in the second game. Boyce started in the circle, going four innings with one earned run, and then Funaki came into to pitch five scoreless innings with just one walk and three strikeouts.

Game 1:  Pomona-Pitzer 4, Occidental 0

The Tigers struggled with the bats and made too many errors in the field during a loss in the first game. Oxy committed four errors and managed just three hits.

Natalie Glover went 2 for 3 for Oxy and Mackensie Priley went 1 for 3.

Pomona-Pitzer starter Liz Rodarte was outstanding, pitching a complete game with 11 strikeouts, just two walks and the three hits.

Oxy starter Madison Romero was also very good, going 6.1 innings with one earned run and no walks.

Izzy Deatherage was 3 for 3 with a run scored and two RBIs for Pomona-Pitzer. Makensey Druckman drove in the Sagehens other two runs.

Next Game: The Tigers are back in action at Chapman on Sunday.
