LOS ANGELES — The Occidental softball team played its final two home games against Cal Lutheran on Friday afternoon.

Game 1: Cal Lutheran 6, Occidental 2

Cora Roberts went 3 for 3 with a run scored and a double, and Bailey Stevens was 1 for 2 with a two-run homer, but the Tigers couldn't comeback to beat the Regals in a 6-2 loss.

After falling behind 3-0, Stevens hit one over the wall to cut the lead to 3-2. Oxy couldn't manage another run and Cal Lutheran rattled off three more to hold on. 

Alexis Funaki pitched all seven innings for the Tigers, giving up five earned runs and striking out six batters.

Brittany Workman went six innings with just the pair of runs to earn the win for the Regals. 

Madison Romero was 1 for 4 for Oxy.

Kendall Marinesi and Mikaela Mayhew each had three hits for the Regals.

Game 2: Cal Lutheran 11, Occidental 7

The Tigers struck first with a run in the first, but had their lead slip starting in the third inning. Cal Lutheran scored three in the third and fourth, one in the fifth and sixth, and three more in the seventh.

Trailing 8-1 in the sixth, Oxy rallied for five more runs, but it wasn't enough.

Cora Roberts was 1 for 3 with a run scored and an RBI, Bailey Stevens was 1 for 1 with three walks and an RBI, Kira Elliott was 1 for 3 with two runs scored, Cassie Carter was 1 for 1, Natalie Glover was 1 for 4 with a run, Mackensie Priley was 1 for 5 with two runs, and Madison Romero was 1 for 3 with an RBI and a run.

Next Series: Oxy finishes the season with a doubleheader at Whittier on Saturday. First pitch of Game 1 is scheduled for noon.
