Oxy Falls Short of Comeback

LOS ANGELES — The Occidental men's water polo team put together a late surge, but couldn't overcome an early deficit in a 12-10 loss to Redlands at Taylor Pool on Saturday.

After falling behind 4-0 at the end of the first quarter and 9-2 at half, Oxy won the fourth quarter 7-1 and outscored the Bulldogs 8-3 in the second half. 

Jason Teng led Oxy with four goals, five drawn exclusions and a steal. Hayden Comerford, Nicolas Lipari and Elijah Havens each added two goals.

Spencer Allen led Redlands with four goals.

Season Impact: Oxy falls to 7-3 overall and 0-3 in SCIAC.

Redlands improves to 4-9 overall and 2-1 in SCIAC.

Next Game: The Tigers are back in action against Cal Lutheran on Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Taylor Pool
