Kim, Rocha Finish Top 25 at SCIAC Championships

LOS ANGELES — Oxy first year Anna Kim had an outstanding weekend of golf, finishing in the top 10 in her first career SCIAC Championship.

The Tigers finished the tournament and season in seventh place in arguably the best golf conference in the country.

Kim had rounds of 80, 78 and 77, improving each day as the tournament went on.

Oxy senior captain Samantha Rocha, who's been the face of the Tigers' program for the past four years, finished her outstanding career in the top 20 with a three-round score of 248. Her best round came on Day 2 when she shot a 79.

"I'm proud of the determination and effort of our team over a grueling three-day event," Oxy head coach Will Morris said. "While it was so sad to see Sam and Katy Uchiyama leave our program, the future is bright for the Tiger women."

Claremont-Mudd-Scripps won the team competition and Amy Xue was the low medalist of the tournament.
