LOS ANGELES — Madelene Sellergren led Oxy with 11 kills, but it wasn't enough in a 3-0 loss to La Verne at Rush Gym on Friday night.

Sellergren, a junior from Arlington Heights, Ill., is leading Oxy with 139 kills in 12 matches this season.

She had help from Taylor Gorretta, who contributed nine kills on .207 hitting.

Oxy setter Lara Minassians had 23 assists, six digs and four kills, and Lauren Duffy had four kills and four aces.

Pi'ikea Clemens led La Verne with 13 kills. 

Season Impact: Oxy falls to 2-10 overall and 0-1 in SCIAC on the season.

La Verne improves to 7-5 overall and 1-0 in SCIAC.

Next Game:  The Tigers are back in action on Saturday, playing at Cal Lutheran at 6 p.m. Oxy's next home match is next Tuesday against Whittier at 7 p.m.
