La Verne, CA — The Oxy Tigers ended their season on Saturday against the La Verne Leopards. Oxy came out strong and won the first set (25-22). The Leopards retaliated by taking the next two sets (25-18, 25-17). However, the Tigers were not going down without a fight! With some incredible heart, some spectacular digs by the back row, and some amazing kills and blocks from the front line, Oxy was able to stay in it and take the next set (25-20). Unfortunately, La Verne maintained the energy in the final set and claimed the win (15-6). Even though it was a loss for the Tigers, they really did leave it all out on the court for their last match of the season.
Oxy Highlights:
The Tigers finished the season with an overall record of 8-15 and conference record of 4-12. As a team they averaged 10.31 kills/set, .132 hitting percentage, 9.78 assists/set, 1.41 blocks/set, 1.91 service aces/set, and 15.56 digs/set.
