Los Angeles, CA — The Occidental women's volleyball team hosted Caltech tonight and both teams put on an exciting game. The Tigers and Beavers traded the lead during the sets, but in the end, the Tigers took the win on their home court, 3-1.
Oxy came out with good energy and controlled the flow in the first set (25-19). However, Caltech regrouped and came back fiercely in the second set, ultimately winning (25-22). Caltech's leaders that helped them recover from a deficit were Claire Perhach, Alison Noyes, and Dallas Taylor, with Halle Blend being the engine earning 42 assists. In the third set, it looked like the Beavers might take a win, but Oxy was able to hold onto their lead and finish ahead (25-22). In the final set, Oxy got an early and strong lead, but lost momentum towards the end. Caltech was able to inch closer to Oxy, but once the Tigers got a few points strung together, their motivation carried them to a win (25-19).
