Redlands, CA — The Occidental women's volleyball team made the journey out to the University of Redlands last night and picked up a win, advancing their win streak to two games and their conference record to 3-1.
The Tigers and Bulldogs put on an exciting match, with each set wrapping up just a few points separating the two teams. At the end of the night, the Tigers earned the win in four sets (25-20, 21-25, 25-21, and 25-23). After trading off wins in the first two sets, the final two sets of the night split the teams by a combined six points. In the third set, each team had their highest percentage with Oxy at .375 and Redlands at .237. For the night, the team's hitting percentages were Oxy at .204 and Redlands at .175. The match almost went into a fifth set, but the Tigers were able to maintain their slight lead over the Bulldogs.
The individual attacker with the highest kill percentage went to the Bulldogs' Makayla Sorenson (.375), but she was closely followed by the Tigers' Lindsey Nurse (.350).
