Los Angeles, CA – Occidental College plays against Cal Miramar this last Friday night. 

The Oxy coaches decided to try out some new line-ups for Friday night's game. Bernard Cassidy, Ryan Hakl, Jacob Hamermesh, Jack Amsler, and Nico Morales all were able to show off their skills in a real time game. 

Beginning in Oxy's possession, the Tigers came in hot with a three point shot that started the game off right. During the first half, Ryan Hakl could be seen aiming for MVP status during this game as he made the most baskets, helping Oxy stay in the lead. Additionally, Bernard Cassidy was also on top of his rebound game, dominating the boards. It was clear that this was an easy dub for Oxy as the players remained relaxed and level headed, allowing them to end in a 13 point lead before half-time. 

In the second half, with Oxy trying out new line-ups, freshman Will Amsler could be seen taking the lead and guiding the team, enforcing communication between the players. Aiding in a brotherly dynamic duo, both the Amslers were able to control the court and score some strong shots with Will passing assists for Jack Amsler to make the shots - allowing Jack to score the second most points right behind Hakl, not to mention scoring the shot that put Oxy in the triple digits. Above that, Nico Morales could be seen weaving himself into the game more effectively and cleaning up the glass with a total of 9 rebounds during the second, as well as making all his attempted free throw shots. 

Great job to the team for ending the game in a 103-72 lead. 

Next game: Occidental College will be playing Pomona-Pitzer at Oxy on Wednesday, February 16th at 7:00 pm.
