A week ago, softball hosted Carnegie Mellon for a doubleheader. Zada Day-Adams '25 got the start in game 1, pitching 5 innings with 4 strikeouts. Alicia Rodriguez '25 picked up an outfield assist, as the Tigers turned a big double play in the top of the 3rd. Oxy used this energy to fuel an offensive rally, as 3 walks, a hit from Audrey Krishnadasan '25, and a sacrifice fly from Evelyn Lorch '25 led the Tigers to score 2 runs in the bottom of the 3rd. Pinch-hitters Kelsey McKenna' 24 and Ellery Mitchell '24 did their jobs, respectively collecting 1 hit and 1 RBI. Game 1 went to CM, 7-5.
Delaney Russell '22 started game 2 for the Tigers, pitching 4.2 innings and striking out 3. Offensively, Russell collected 1 hit and 2 RBIs. Aly Olkien '22 had 2 hits and 1 RBI and Ava Quezada '25 had 2 hits and 2 RBIs. Bella Harding '25 also collected 2 hits in the game. In relief, Ellery Mitchell '25 was dominant, only allowing 1 hit in 2 innings. The Tigers ended the day with the win in a high scoring game, 11-10.
