Los Angeles, CA — The Occidental men's basketball team played host to the CMS Stags on Saturday afternoon.
The game was neck and neck for most of the 1st half, with the score being tied at 16 with 10 minutes left in the half. CMS then made back to back threes to gain a 6-point advantage but Andrew Waldman responded with a made jump shot.
Anthony Hollerich was able to draw fouls on back to back Oxy possessions and made all four free throws to get the score to 26-24 in favor of CMS. The Stags would respond with two made baskets and the half would end with CMS leading 30-24.
Oxy would continue to battle for the entirety of the game but CMS would take a double digit lead early in the 2nd half and maintain it for the rest of the game. The Stags would go on to win by a score of 63-50.
Andrew Waldman led the Tigers in scoring with 14 points while also grabbing 3 rebounds and 2 steals. Anthony Hollerich had 12 points and 2 assists.
Jacob Koretz went a perfect 2-2 in field goals off the bench and totaled 6 points. Kyle Dosa led Oxy with 5 rebounds in the game.
Oxy will battle the University of La Verne Leopards on Wednesday, February 15th. Be sure to come out to support the Tiger seniors on their senior day!
