LA VERNE, Calif. – Men's and women's swim and dive took on La Verne and Pomona-Pitzer in a double-dual meet on Saturday, November 9. Both teams defeated the Leopards, with the women winning 178-53 and the men 171.5-53.5. They both fell to Pomona-Pitzer, 232-56 and 173-99 respectively.

The men's 200 medley relay of
Carter Park,
Matthew Spruance,
Connor Grant and
Joshua Biggs were just two seconds off the program's top-time and bested the field. It was one of three victories on the day for Grant who won the 200 and 500 free. The first year also helped the 400 free relay team to a second-place finish.
Â
Biggs repeated his success from a week ago, winning the 50 free for the second consecutive meet. His time of 21.75 was just a tick off is 21.46 from a week ago, but got the job done Saturday. He added a second-place finish in the 100 free.
Â
One relay and three individual victories for the men is an impressive showing with the No. 15 Sagehens as part of the field.
Â
On the women's side, Riley Kawaski picked up the win in the 3-meter dive. She scored a 169.35 on the big board, nine points ahead of second place.
Â
It was a tall task for the women against No. 8 Pomona-Pitzer, who had the victor in each swimming event, but the Tigers'
Amanda George nabbed second in the 200 IM, swimming a 2:20.9, creating some distance between herself and third place.
Â
The Tigers are back in action in two weekends with a two-day double-dual meet with Caltech and Cal Lutheran at De Mandel, November 23-24.
