LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Carlos Abram was named SCIAC Defensive Athlete of the Week on Monday, October 6.
 
Since taking over as the starting goalkeeper against Whittier on September 24, the Tigers have surrendered just one goal per game after allowing 11 goals in the team's first seven contests.
 
Abram picked up four saves, including three against a high-powered Caltech offense. The sophomore earned his first career shutout in a 3-0 win over Redlands on Saturday. It was only the third time the Bulldogs have been shutout at home in the past three seasons.
 
Abram and the Tigers are back in action on Wednesday at home when the Tigers host Chapman at 7 p.m.
