CLAREMONT, Calif. – Track & Field competed at the Pomona-Pitzer Salo & Crenna Invitational on Saturday, February 15.

Brooke Tompkins and
Isabel Yaffe headlined the meet for the Tigers. Tompkins earned Oxy's lone first place finish in the 400-meter hurdles. The sophomore blew the field away with a four-second gap between herself and second place. She completed the race in 1:09.32.

Yaffe competed in the 100 and 200-meter dashes. She placed second in the 200 at 26.56 and seventh in the 100 at 12.94.

Over on the field,
Chelsea Groves earned the top SCIAC finish in the shot put. The senior continued her success after an impressive 11.95-meter toss at Oxy's dual meet with Pomona-Pitzer, notching a 10.95 mark.

Other notable finishes include
Zoey Hrabe's second place finish in the pole vault, reaching 3.5 meters before failing at 3.8.
Skylar Cottell placed third in the 400-meter dash, finishing in 1:01.40.

LaQuay Jerkins earned the second-fastest mark of SCIAC runners in the men's 400-meter dash. He completed the race with a time of 52.74.
Peter Villano placed second in the 400 hurdles, earning a time of 58.03.

Emerson Ames came up .08 meters short of the top-SCIAC mark in the long jump, reaching 6.45 meters on his first attempt.

The Tigers are back in action next Saturday, February 22 at the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps' Rossi Relays.
