LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Elina Shalaev was named SCIAC Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week on Monday, March 17.
 
Shalaev was an integral part of women's tennis' success in Texas during spring break. Shalaev went 3-0 in singles matches, earning the Tigers lone point against No. 10 Trinity, winning in straight sets 7-5, 7-5. She also went 3-1 in doubles matches.
 
Shalaev and Oxy women's tennis are back in action on Friday, March 21 against Riverside City College.
