LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Track and Field competed at the Redlands Last Chance meet in Redlands, CA on Wednesday and Thursday.
The Tigers had some impressive performances over the two-day meet, including Elizabeth Hawley coming in 2nd place in the 200 with a time of 25.07 and finishing in 1st overall in the 400 with a time of 56.96.
Delphine Way also grabbed 3rd place in the 400 with a time of 59.50. Amelia Weitz finished 2nd overall in the long jump with a mark of 4.98m.
Chelsea Groves had strong performances in discus shot put and hammer throw, coming in 2nd overall in both discus and shot put with marks of 36.62m and 12.05m, respectively.
In the 110 hurdles, James Buellesbach came in 2nd place with a time of 14.70 and in the 400 hurdles Harrison Williams and Derek Jimenez came in first and second respectively with times of 56.12 and1:01.07.
The men's 4x100 team of Shane Kawakami-Williams, Khylee Jackson, Emerson Ames, and Zach McGraw took home the best time in the field, finishing with a time of 41.25.
Emerson Ames also finished with the second best mark in the long jump with a mark of 6.97m.
Miles Manigault finished in the top five in both discus and shotput with marks of 38.89m and 10.53m, respectively. Darius Harvey finished 6ht overall in men's javelin with a mark of 43.81m.
Warren Cruser finished in 4th place in the triple jump with a mark of 11.78m. Shane Kawakami-Williams shined in the 100 once again with a 6th place finish with a time just off of his school record at 10.65. He also finished 3rd in the 200 with a time of 21.27.
NCAA WATCHLIST
The Tigers now await official qualifier selection set to release by 5pm PT on Friday May 16th to see if any athletes will compete in the National Championships in Geneva, OH>
Jenna Lenay currently ranks 23rd in the nation in the 10,000 and Elizabeth Hawley sits at 35th in the nation in the 400.
Shane Kawakami-Williams ranks 21st in the nation in the 100 and 35th in the 200. Renn Stearns ranks 21st in the nation in the 3000m steeplechase.
