A sneak peek (January 26-31, 2026)

Men's Basketball
  • OT Warriors – The Tigers pulled off two overtime victories in a 2-1 week. First Oxy took down Whittier in a key road victory on Monday and followed it up with an eight-point win over Chapman.
  • Luna's recognition – Nasir Luna earned SCIAC Offensive Athlete of the Week and a nod at D3hoops.com's Team of the Week following an impressive showing from Jan 7-11. Luna kept it rolling, averaging 18.3 across three games, scoring a game-high 25 against Whittier.
  • 1/31 vs Caltech – The Tigers are off until Saturday against Caltech. They look to get back into the win column after falling to No. 11 Redlands on the road. The game was much closer than the final score states, with the Tigers trailing by only five midway through the second half.

Women's Basketball
  • Back on track – After a slow start to conference play, the Tigers won two games to open the week over Whittier and Chapman. Their win on Wednesday against the Panthers came by 20, 79-59.
  • Fourth quarter woes – The Tigers led Redlands by one heading into the final frame on the road on Saturday, but the Bulldog's outscored Oxy 26-13 in the fourth.
  • 1/26 vs La Verne – An important home game for the Tigers as they look to remain in the hunt for a spot in the SCIAC tournament. La Verne has struggled in conference play and would be a necessary win in the postseason pursuit.
  • 1/31 vs Caltech – Like La Verne, Caltech is in the bottom third of the standings. Two wins on the week would put the Tigers at .500 with six games to go in conference play.

Swimming and Diving
  • 1/31 vs Cal Lutheran – It's senior day for the Tigers who were off last week. Oxy is now just three weeks away from the SCIAC Championships, where Connor Grant will look to repeat as the 200 Free Champion. Nate Pitroff and Amanda George look to compete closely in the 100 breast and 500 free respectively.

Women's Tennis
  • 1/30 at San Diego City College and 1/31 at Point Loma – The Tigers are back in action for the 2026 season. The fall was stellar and Elina Shalaev and Greta Nagy soared to the ITA Cup semifinals in doubles. The duo was ranked 4th in the ITA Preseason Rankings.

Spring Sports
  • Baseball, Softball, Lacrosse, Golf, Track and men's tennis are all inching back into the swing of competition. Baseball had an exhibition against Biola on Saturday and Softball plays its first exhibition against La Sierra on 2/1.
  • Ronald Chen of men's tennis was ranked 50th in the ITA Preseason Rankings.
