LA VERNE, Calif. — Occidental College fell to the University of La Verne with a final score of 4-1 at Campus West on Friday.
Occidental managed two hits in the contest, scoring its lone run in the sixth inning.
La Verne took an early lead in the second inning with an RBI single, then extended its lead in the third with a three-run homer.Â
Occidental got on the scoreboard in the sixth inning.
Anna Kim walked, stole second, and advanced to third on a wild pitch.
Sophia Siu then singled through the left side, driving in Kim. The rally ended there and closed the scoring for both teams.
Kim contributed by scoring one run, recording one hit, and stealing a base. J. Lindsay pitched a complete game, allowing four earned runs over six innings. Siu added one hit and one RBI, also reaching base once via hit-by-pitch.
Occidental has a record of 0-4 and stands winless in the SCIAC conference. The Leopards have a record of 4-5 and hold a 1-0 record in the SCIAC conference.
