LOS ANGELES — Occidental (4-27, 1-15) fell to Claremont-M-S (15-16-1, 6-10) with a final score of 8–5.
Occidental managed a late rally with four runs in the seventh inning, but Claremont-M-S secured the win with two home runs earlier in the game.
Occidental started the game strong in the first inning when
Anna Kim was hit by a pitch and later scored an unearned run on a single by
Jordan Lebsock. Occidental led 1–0 after the first inning.
In the second inning, Claremont-M-S responded with a powerful offensive display. Alex Wedemeyer hit a two-run homer, contributing to a total of four runs in the inning. This pushed Claremont-M-S ahead, 4–1.
The third inning saw Claremont-M-S extend its lead. Giselle Lai scored on a sacrifice bunt by Danica Stirling, adding another run to their tally. Claremont-M-S led 5–1 after three innings.

Wagner contributed significantly with two RBIs and a hit, helping her team on the scoreboard. Kim showcased her speed on the bases, successfully stealing two bases and scoring a run. Lebsock recorded two hits and added an RBI, maintaining a consistent presence at the plate.
Sam Palacio reached base twice, scoring one run and drawing a walk, further enhancing the offensive effort.
The Tigers will travel to Claremont, CA tomorrow afternoon for a doubleheader against the Athenas to round out the three-game series. First pitches are set for 12:00PM and 2:00PM.
