INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Occidental's baseball program had two student-athletes selected as College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District on Tuesday, June 2nd. 

This honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for maintaining high standards of performance both on the field and in the classroom. To qualify, student-athletes must compete in 90% of the institution's games played or must start in 66% of the institution's games while maintaining at least a 3.50 grade point average.

This year's selections from the Occidental baseball team are Benjamin Fitzgerald and Logan Rooney. Both players had outstanding seasons on the field for the Tigers while simultaneously excelling in the classroom. Fitzgerald hit .393 at the plate in 2026, including three home runs, 53 hits and 28 runs batted in. Rooney was a top run-producer for Oxy, tied for the team-high with 37 runs batted in while hitting .352 at the plate and slugging four homers on the season.
