Box Score LOS ANGELES — Stephanie Gann led with 11 kills and Madyson Cassidy had 18 digs, but the Occidental College women's volleyball team didn't have it clicking in a 3-0 loss at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Tuesday, 25-16, 25-23, 25-22.
"Overall we just did not play like ourselves for most of the match," Oxy coach Heather Collins said. "We were undisciplined on the block and not aggressive enough with our swings."
Oxy was much more competitive in sets 2 and 3 after losing big in the first.
Dana Michels had nine kills and three aces and Alyssa Mort added eight kills for Oxy. Setter Jessie Altman tipped effectively with a .571 hitting percentage.
CMS' Nicole Kerkhof led the match with 13 kills.
Oxy falls to 8-6 in SCIAC play and 15-10 overall.
The Tigers have the rest of the week to prepare for the final two matches of their season. Oxy hosts Redlands on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and then travels to Chapman on Saturday.
"We have two days of practice to make some changes and get ready for a big weekend," Collins said.
