LOS ANGELES — Josh Cohen pitched well in another start, but the Occidental baseball team made one too many mistakes against a quality Endicott team, falling 4-1 at Anderson Field on Wednesday.

Cohen, Oxy's Friday starter, went 7.1 innings with six strikeouts and just one earned run. Cade Denyer also pitched well, strikeout out two batters, while giving up just one hit in the remaining 1.2 innings.

Endicott took advantage of Oxy's mistakes in the field with two runs in the fifth and one more in the eighth. Michael Casciano hit a solo homer for Endicott's other run to tie the game in the fourth.

Michael Netzel grounded into a fielder's choice in the first inning, bringing in Reid Gibbs for Oxy's run. He also had a hard-hit single to left center field, finishing the day 1 for 4 with an RBI. JP Flores went 1 for 2, Bryan Scott subbed in late and got a single.

Endicott's pitching was solid. Liam Burke earned the win, going five innings with one earned run, and then Alexander Mandrus, Cooper Anibal and Will Bryant combined for a scoreless final four innings with just one Oxy hit during that stretch. 

The game was originally scheduled for Thursday, but moved up to Wednesday for expected rain.

Oxy falls to 9-7 on the season. Endicott improves to 5-1.

The Tigers are back in action on Friday, facing Dickinson in a doubleheader at 11 a.m.
