Los Angeles, CA — The Occidental Tigers put up a good fight but ultimately lost in both games on Saturday's doubleheader against the Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens.
The Tigers lost the first game by a score of 10-3. Oxy scored in the 7th inning off of a single by Third Baseman Michael Ingram. Oxy put up more runs in the 8th inning off of a passed ball and a single from Left Fielder Antonio Andrade. Designated Hitter Jodhan Fine led the team with two hits in the game.
The Sagehens took the second game of the day by a score of 14-5. The Tigers had a strong 5th inning where a single Center Fielder Christian Boudreau and a home run from Left Fielder Antonio Andrade brought in a total of five runs.
Overall for the day, the Oxy pitchers picked up more strikeouts than the Sagehens pitchers, highlighting the promise for the rest of the season.
Next Game: The Tigers will host Whittier College on Saturday Morning before a game against the University of Redlands.
