Andrade Homers in Series Opener Against La Verne

Los Angeles, CA — The Occidental Tigers lost on Friday against the visiting La Verne Leopards in a 5-2 game. 

The Tigers took the lead in the bottom of the 1st inning when Left Fielder Antonio Andrade hit a two-run homer to bring the Tigers up 2-1. However, the Leopards would go on to score four more runs later in the game. The Oxy offense was led by Right Fielder Andrew Snyder who had three hits throughout the game. The Leopards outhit the Tigers 9-6.

Oxy Pitcher Diego Ramirez went more than seven innings and earned the quality start by only allowing three runs through the first six innings. Pitcher Devon Suske finished the game for the Tigers and allowed zero runs.

Next Game: Oxy will head to La Verne on Saturday for a doubleheader to complete the series.
