Tigers Short in Doubleheader at CMS Despite Strong Starts

Claremont, CA — The Occidental Tigers held leads in both games of Saturday's doubleheader at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, but ultimately lost both games.

The Stags won the first game 8-4. The Tigers took the lead after a four-run inning in the top of the 4th. Designated Hitter Ari Solomon doubled to bring two runners in and was followed by a two-run homer from Center Fielder Ryan Cacatian. Second Baseman Nolan Upchurch led the team with two hits.

The Tigers lost the second game by a score of 5-8. In the 5th inning, Third Baseman Preston Chong doubled to bring three runners in and tie the game at 4-4. Catcher AJ Naha singled in the 6th inning which brought Ari Solomon in to give the Tigers the 5-4 lead. Naha led the team with two hits in the game.

Next Game: Oxy will start a new series next Friday when they visit the Redlands Bulldogs.
