Oxy Falls 4-2 Despite Strong Defensive Showing

Orange, CA — The Occidental baseball team lost 4-2 against the Chapman Panthers in the first of a three game series. 

The Tigers went up early when Left Fielder Antonio Andrade hit a single in the 1st inning which brought Right Fielder Andrew Synder to give Oxy the 1-0 lead. Catcher Jonathan Marshall doubled the lead in the 4th inning when his single brought First Baseman Ari Solomon in for the run. The Panthers put their runs on the board in the 7th and 8th innings. Andrade led the team with two hits in the game.

Oxy Pitcher Diego Ramirez went the whole game and earned the quality start while only allowing four earned runs.
