Oxy Sweeps Caltech after Back-to-Back Blowouts

Los Angeles, CA — The Occidental Tigers scored a combined 36 runs across both games of Saturday's doubleheader to sweep the Caltech Beavers. 

The Tigers won the first game of the day by a score of 21-4. Oxy scored 20 of its runs in the first three innings alone. The scoring was capped off in the 3rd inning by a three-run homer from Pitcher Diego Ramirez. The Tigers had 20 total hits in the game and were led by Left Fielder Antonio Andrade who had four. Ramirez pitched the entire game for the Tigers and threw five strikeouts.

Oxy dominated again in the second game as they beat the Beavers 15-2. Antonio Andrade added to his collection of home runs this season with a two-run bomb in the 6th inning. Every Oxy starter recorded a hit during the game as the team had 20 hits in total. Pitcher Jon Thoren earned the win as he went four innings without letting up a single run.

Next Game: The Tigers will look to expand on their winning streak on Friday when they travel to play Cal Lutheran.
