Los Angeles, CA — Baseball had their season opener on Friday against Lewis and Clark.

The Pioneers were able to get on the board quickly in the 1st inning and added on 5 more in the 2nd to take a 6-0 lead before adding one more on a walk in the 3rd inning.

Wilson Schwegler and Chris Stimming were able to keep the game within reach by limiting the Pioneers to 3 runs over 5.2 innings.

Jonathan Marshall got the Tigers some momentum with a solo home run in the bottom of the 3rd inning. Marshall also kept the momentum going with a 2 RBI single in the bottom of the 6th inning.

Ryan Cacatian would then step up to the plate in a big situation in the same inning as the bases were loaded and there were two outs on the board. Cacatian would line a ball to right center that would clear the bases and get Oxy right back in the game at 8-6.

Tom Stoodt then added another run for the Tigers with a sacrifice fly that scored Ari Solomon in the bottom of the 7th. The game would be called after 8 innings however as the sunset caused there to not be enough light to play the 9th inning and Lewis and Clark would win by a score of 8-7.
