Box Score Los Angeles, CA — Oxy Baseball finished their spring break by ending their midseason break and hosting a weekend of games against teams from the east coast. On Friday, the Tigers hosted the Endicott Gulls at Anderson Field.
Multiple Tigers had strong performances against one of the nation's best teams. First year Lou Martineau went 2-4 on the day, hitting singles in the 6th and 8th innings. Sophomore transfer Jeffery Cambra had his own 2-4 day with a single and a double while scoring a run. Jonathan Marshall and Nicholas Gonzalez each went 1-3 with a single and an RBI.
On the pitching side, Riley Holcomb was effective in relief for the Tigers. Holcomb threw 2 innings, allowing only 1 hit while striking out 2 and not allowing a run. Kenneth Kroese threw a scoreless 9th inning for the Tigers, allowing just 1 hit and also not allowing a run to score.
While these performances were significant, Endicott's offense proved to be too much for the Tigers on Friday. The Gulls went on to win the game, 16-2.
