Box Score Los Angeles, CA — The Tigers continued their weekend slate on Saturday morning by hosting the Webster Gorloks at Anderson Field.
Saturday was a big day for the Tigers' offense. The team tallied 13 hits and had runners on base for 8 of the 9 innings played against Webster. The scoring began in the bottom of the 4th for Oxy, when a Matthew DiCicco double scored Garrett Palme from 1st to make it a 2-1 game in favor of Webster.
In the 7th inning, Nolan Upchurch hit a sacrifice fly to center field to score Ari Solomon. In addition to his RBI, Upchurch recorded 3 hits including a double. Two other Tigers recorded multi hit games: Solomon went 2-2 with a walk and scored twice, and Miles Capobianco went 2-2 with a double, an RBI and a run scored.
In the bottom of the 8th, Lou Martineau stepped up to the plate and blasted a 3 run Home Run down the left field line for his 2nd homer of the season. The home run brought home Solomon and Capobianco to cap off a 3 RBI performance from Martineau.
Alongside their strong offense, the Tigers played great defense on Saturday. With zero errors on the day Oxy turned 3 double plays, 2 of them to end the inning, and played clean defense throughout all 9 innings.
Unfortunately for the Tigers, the Gorlok offense was able to capitalize on their chances to lead Webster to victory. The Tigers fall to the Gorloks, 14-6.
