Carmel, CA - The Men's Golf team won their first event of the spring season, traveling up to Northern California to compete in the PCH Spring Invitational, hosted by Menlo College at Quail Lodge Golf Club. The Tigers were the only Division 3 team in the field, playing among Division 2 and NAIA schools. The team won by 17 shots, the largest margin in school history, and three Tigers finished in the top 5 in the field.
First Year Amaan Kanji had a strong debut to his college career, firing a 1-under par 70 the first day, followed with a 71 (E) the second round. Amaan finished in solo 2nd place just one shot behind the winner. Senior Co-Captain Connor Wierman opened the tournament with a strong 3-under par 68 to lead the tournament after round 1. He finished the tournament tied for 3rd after a 74 (+3) in the second round. Junior Co-Captain Adam Elshamy finished in 5th among the field at 1-over par for the 36-hole total, shooting 73-70 for the two rounds.Â

The team will have their next event the last weekend of February, where they will compete in the first SCIAC event of the season at Costa Mesa Country Club for SCIAC 1. Go Tigers!
