Ventura, CA – Last week, the Occidental men's tennis team traveled to Ventura College to face off against Bakersfield College. The team secured a commanding 7-2 victory over their opponents in a thrilling encounter.
From the onset, Oxy asserted their dominance in the doubles matches, delivering a clean sweep to set the tone for the rest of the day. The duo of Ace Andres and Ronald Chen led the charge with an impressive 8-0 victory at the top doubles position, showcasing their synergy and formidable partnership.
Mason Hart and Quentin Kemna continued the momentum with a solid 8-3 triumph, while Dhruv Verma and Brett Miller sealed the doubles sweep with an authoritative 8-1 win.
In singles play, Oxy maintained their momentum by clinching victories in three of the six matches in straight sets. Dennis Isak maintained composure with a close battle, 6-4, 6-3. Meanwhile, Hart delivered a dominant display, securing a convincing win 6-1, 6-2, to further the Tigers lead.
First year standout, Verma continued the Tiger pressure by earning a resounding 6-1, 6-0 victory at the sixth position.
