Ventura, CA – The Occidental men's tennis team enjoyed a successful outing on the first Saturday of their spring break, securing a dominant 8-1 victory over Ventura College this past weekend. With strong performances across doubles and singles, Oxy demonstrated their depth on the court.
The doubles matches got Oxy off to an early lead as they swept all three with precision and determination. On court one, Ronald Chen and Ace Andres dug deep, mounting a comeback from a 4-1 deficit to secure the hard-fought 8-6 victory. Mason Hart and Quentin Kemna continued the winning streak with a solid 8-6 triumph, while Brett Miller and Dhruve Verma worked cohesively together to clinch an 8-4 win.
The Tigers continued to shine in singles play, securing victories in five of the six matches to seal the overall win. Andres battled to a thrilling third-set super tiebreaker at the second singles position, ultimately defeating his opponent 6-4, 2-6, 10-6.
The team's depth was further evidenced by Miller, Benjamin Burrows, and Dennis Isak as they all delivered dominant performances in their respective matches.
