Pasadena, CA – In a highly anticipated clash on the courts, Caltech emerged victorious against Occidental with a final score of 6-3 on April 13, 2024.
The doubles matches set the stage for a thrilling contest, with Oxy making a strong start by claiming victories in two of the three matchups. Kristina Lee and Elina Shalaev displayed exceptional chemistry and skill, securing a solid 8-4 win on court one. Continuing the momentum, Sebaga Kombo and Sydney Sasaki further bolstered Oxy's position with a hard-fought 8-5 win on court two to give Oxy the 2-1 lead heading into singles.
The remainder of the match was delayed due to rain, with singles resuming during the week. Despite the determined effort from the Tigers' lineup, the Beavers delivered a strong performance, securing victories on five of the six courts.
