Greta Nagy and
Elina Shalaev gear up for the ITA Cup Division III Doubles Championships on October 16 in Rome, Ga. Here's everything you need to know about the tournament.

HISTORICAL FACTS
Â
With its inception in 1986, first known as the Small College Nationals, host the top-16 Division III doubles teams in the nation. While the tournament dates back nearly 40 years, Nagy and Shalaev are the only Tigers to qualify since 2008 when the ITA's first available data was published.

THE MATCHUP
Â
Shalaev and Nagy will face the runner-ups coming out of the Midwest Region – Lauryn Douglas and Michaela Sullivan from Bethel University. Both duos were ranked outside of the top-50 following the ITA's final doubles rankings in 2025.

Douglas and Sullivan fell in three sets – 4-6, 6-3, 10-5 – to the Midwest champs No. 33 Kaya Debruijn and Karina Elvestrom out of Gustavus Adolphus.

The duo had to win five matches to reach the regional final.

THE TIGER OUTLOOK

Shalaev closed the 2024-25 season as the only ranked individual of the four competing. She finished ranked 74
th in the nation as the Tigers' No. 2 singles option. Nagy held the No. 1 singles position for the Tigers throughout the season, and earned marquee wins over Ella Brissett of Claremont-M-S and Yoyo Benchetrit of Caltech.

As a duo, Shalaev and Nagy went 10-6 in the 2025 spring.

Should they win, the pair will face the winner of Ridenour/Jaiswal (RPI) and No. 4 Levy/Andrade (Trinity)(Texas) on Friday, October 17 at 10:30 a.m. in the quarterfinals. The semis follow on October 18 at 12:30 p.m. and the finals will take place on Sunday, October 19 at 8:00 a.m. All times in Pacific Daylight Time.
