Elina Shalaev and
Greta Nagy became the first Tiger duo to qualify for the ITA Cup in over 20 years, placing second at the ITA West Regionals in Claremont on Sunday, October 5.

Shalaev and Nagy, the Tigers' No. 1 doubles team a season ago, opened the 2025-26 campaign beating a pair from UC Santa Cruz, Cal Lutheran and two Claremont-M-S teams before falling in the championship – 6-2, 7-5.

Ranked third overall in the field of 32 doubles teams, the two solidified themselves as one of the top 16 doubles teams in the nation. They'll face off against the remainder of the country at the ITA Cup, October 16-19 in Rome, Ga.

Around the courts of the Biszantz Family Tennis Center in Claremont,
Ronald Chen highlighted the men's trip with a quarterfinal appearance in Flight A. The senior earned wins over Gavin Sonntag from UC Santa Cruz and No. 6 ranked Andrew Zabelo before falling to No. 2 Drew Goldman of Pomona-Pitzer. Goldman eventually lost in the championship to the nation's top player, Advik Mareedu.

Jack Yurich reached the men's doubles finals in Flight B, while
Lilia Tanabe won the back draw finals of Flight C.
